Thanks. Do you want to use the genforum or email? Otherwise I can furnish my address. My Lemmons from Ireland, came over around 1830, first settled Maine, then PA, then Ohio, then Iowa, then NE. At least two children born in PA around 1838-1842. The ancestor who came over was William Lemons. I don't know if he had relation here already. The sticking point is that his real last name may have been Moran. Supposedly he took his new wife's last name LeMon in order to further distance himself from the cattle rustling.I cannot find the family in 1830 or 1840 censuses but the family as Moran is in the 1850 & 1860 censuses. William served in the Civil War as Lemons. From the 1870 census on the last name is Lemons or variations. Velly Interestink! TEWAGOS=Take everything with a grain of salt.
