After YEARS of searching, I finally found the answer to this. In the book, George Lemley and wife Catherine Yoho…the source Alvah Headlee used for the Asa Lemley (pg 134) and Samuel S Lemley (pg 135) biographical snippets came from the Biographical and Portrait Cyclopedia of Monongalia, Marion and Taylor Counties published in 1895. In this book, Asa Lemley’s bio is on pg 96 and Samuel S Lemley’s bio is on pg 192-193. These bios are verbatim to the ones in Dr. Headlee’s book on George and Catherine’s family.
