I am so terribly confused and I am hoping someone here can help me clarify contradictory information I have found on the Internet about my ancestors. In a BMS2000 marriage record, my great-great-great-grandfather Francois Adam’s parents are said to be Joseph Adam and Josette Miret (a diminutive form of Lemire, which is why I am asking this here). Their marriage would have taken place in Sainte-Marie-de-Monnoir (now known as Marieville), Quebec, Canada, on October 27, 1829. Outside of that record, I can find no trace of the existence of Josette (or Josephe or Josephte) Miret. The one Josette Miret I do find is married to Francois-Xavier Marcoux, not to Joseph Adam. Then, some family trees I found on the Internet name Joseph Adam Ledoux and Josette (or Josephe or Josephte) De Rainville Miret as Francois’ parents. The date if the marriage is the same, in the same place. Does anyone have any information about a Miret and/or Rainville – Adam and/or Ledoux marriage in the county of Rouville, Quebec, some time around 1829? Can anyone link the names Miret and Rainville at all? Thanks in advance. Notify Administrator about this message?
