Hi - I am tracing the Lemay dit Delorme line from Canada. My maternal GGG grandfather was Pierre Lemay dit Delorme who was born c1773 and served with the Northwest Company and then with the Hudson's Bay Company. He died 25 Oct 1853, but I'm not yet sure where. I 'think' he came from the east - poss. Great Lakes area of Canada or else through the US into the Red River area into northern Alberta [Athabasca District] where he served with Alexander Mackenzie & David Thompson excursions into the west. I also suspet his parents would have been in the Great Lakes area or what was then called Upper Canada.

I know I'll not be of help with yDNA testing, but I did have my mtDNA done and it shows aboriginal origins.

Be interested in discussing this more, if you're interested.

Caron
