I am a decendant of Thomas Lemasters Sr, son of Isaac and Nancy Anna Lemasters. I hope to clear up a misunderstanding which is widely held in Lemasters' genealogy.

There are two Thomas Lemasters of the same generation, my Thomas was born between 1750 - 1760, married Alieda Dallas and moved from the Morgantown, WV area to Tyler County WV and died about 1845. Thomas and Alieda had 10 or 11 children, the oldest believed to be Newton who married Lourena Ferbee. Other children were Chloe, H.L., Isaac, Mary, John, Thomas Jr, James, Septimus, Levi, Dallas.

Thomas Andrew Lemasters was born 1750 and moved to Mason County WV and became a well known Indian scout and revolutionary war soldier. Thomas Andrew married Catherine Thornton and maybe 2 other wives, Miss Lewis and Jenny Dyal. Thomas Andrew may have had as many as 21 children with these 3 wives. (Scout) Thomas Andrew's name is on a plaque at Point Pleasant Monument Park as a Mason County revolutionary war soldier.

If you are a Lemasters family genealogist check your records, do the research and make the necessary corrections.

Thanks,
Rick Lemasters
