ROFL! I currently have about 7 thousand people in my database, most of whom are French-Canadian. There does not seem to be a single family that does not have at least two Maries (with or without Anne, Marguerite or something else tacked on the end) and a parade of Jean, Jean-Baptiste, Phillipe and Pierres. There IS two of everybody. Worse, if you have three siblings in 1650, each and every one of them will have children, all of whom will have the same set of names. When my own 4 were young I would sometimes when flustered descend to "whichever kid you are!" so I guess I can see where being able to have instant response from most of them by shouting "Marie!" might be handy :)
