Thanks Paul. My guess is that Elrod and Leitner were not connected with the Labadists. The Creagers later lived in Frederick County, MD in the same vicinity as the Elrods. I recognize other names in the document, e.g. Richard Thompson. He was connected to Ephraim Augustine Herman I believe.
The St. Stephens’ Parish (North Sassafras Parish) records of Cecil also mention that Mary Julien seamstress married 19 Aug 1734 to John Thompson.John Thompson was the son of Richard Thompson who was a son of Col. John Thompson who died 17 Dec 1735. This was the Col. John Thompson who married Judith Herman, the second daughter of Augustine Herman. This Herman family will be mentioned again in the discussion of the Wood family. It appears that John Thompson and his wife Mary Julien had one son, Samuel, born 5 Jun 1735. The Elrod/Alrod family was later connected with the Julian family in NC.
This Julian family descends from Rene Julian who first came to SC, then to Anne Arundel County, MD thence to Cecil County. The Cecil County records disclose a number of land transactions involving Rene. These include a deed of release made by Ephraim Augustine Herman (1683-c.1734) to Rene Julien and dated 1 May 1720. This deed of release was for the "three natural lives of said Rene Julien and Stephen Julien, son of Rene Julien, and Peter Julien, the land being part of Bohemia Manor being a vacancy between Charles Mullins and Henry Dehoff's land, John Sidler's land and Newcastle Road."On 15 May 1737, Rene Julien transferred this lease to one Henry McCoy for the sum of 40 pounds current money of Province of Pennsylvania.
