For Leitch researchers -

Andrew Leitch, who died in the Revolutionary War, was involved with a chancery in Frederick County Court, VA. He is surname is not listed, however, his business partner Hugh Stewart is. Their firm was called Stewart & Leitch.

Based on the depositions of the case, Andrew died while battling the British in the war. Thus, John Dukes sued Hugh Stewart and the assignee John Rose. In Andrew Leitch's Revolutionary War Bounty request by his daughter Sara Addison, Hugh Stewart verified his service.

In the chancery, there is a bill of sale signed by Andrew Leitch dated 17 October 1774, as a guarantee for an newly-arrived indentured servant, Isaac Austin, who was purchased by John Dukes.

Happy to share the file.
