Hi Jerry. As far as I know, John Henry Leinen came to the US in 1850, and then to Chicago in 1855. I do not know where he was between 1850 and 1855. He was born in Stadtkyll, Germany in 1830. He was the son of Matthew Leinen and Catherine Klein. His siblings were Anna Barbara, Joannes Peter, Nicolas, Catherine, Anton, Anne Catherine and Jacobus. They were all born in Stadtkyll, and I don't know whether they came to America or not. I have not found a passenger list. I was aware of the Leinens in Iowa, but have yet to make a connection between the two groups. I am sure there is one back there somewhere! Joan
