RE: The barcode. You log on to your neighborhood library and you will see in the menu Heritage Quest. Click on that and it will ask you to enter the bar code # from the back of your library card. Then you can seach from the comfort of home. The publication is more than just family trees.
It tells the history of how the Leighton's came to be in
Maine in the 1600's and continues through the revolution.
My Mother was a Leighton and the antedotal history she told us is pretty much born out.
