Hi there. Who do you suppose is the Samuel Hix mentioned in the 1822 will of Walter Leigh of Richmond Co. GA? Records I have reviewed do not show that James and Sarah Leigh Hix had a son, Samuel, therefore I'm confused to who this Samuel Hix is. My ancestor, Samuel Hicks 1788-1852 was a native of Augusta (per his 1852 Upson Co. GA obit) and married Louisa Bowdre 1827 Columbia Co. GA. After YEARS of research I still am unable to determine my Samuel's parents or any siblings. Many people confuse my Samuel Hicks with Ruth Bugg Hick's son Samuel but her's was born around 1750 and mine 35 years later. Just grasping at straws and would appreciate your input, thoughts. Thanks!
