The Hon Gilbert Leigh.MP 1851-1884

Hi! I have discovered that in 1878 the Hon Gilbert Leigh, eldest son of Lord Leigh of Stoneleigh together with my grandfather James Burke Roche and others sailed to New York with Moreton Frewen dstined for Moreton's cattle ranch in Wyoming. Moreton Frewen founded the Powder River Cattle company, grazing vast herds in the Powder River basin, north of Fort Laramie and Cheyenne. On a return visit in 1884 Gilbert Leigh died falling into a ravine concealed by tree tops. Could be interesting to someone?

Any info on James Burke Roche very welcome. Mary Roche
