This was on the Harris Family Genealogy Forum. I am convinced that Edward Edmund Harris on 1704 Quit Rent Rolls later ofSt Peter's St Paul's Parish Hanover (both King and Queen, and Hanover were derived from New Kent County. Later this part of Hanover became Louisa Co and Edward E. Harris later Married Unity (recorded St Peter's registry) and moved to Amelia Co Va 1745. left land there to son Nathanial to care for himself and wife Unity.

Hi Patti, don't think I am going to be of much help. I show that all three of Major William Harris's sons had wives named Mary. Issue: William of St. Peter's Parrish, New Kent, in 1624 married Mary ?. Edward of New Kent, 1698 Married Mary Leigh. Thomas, of Henrico, married Mary Jefferson, will proven June 1730.
I have a Mary Giles but she was the daughter of William Giles and Bethenia Knowles and married a William HArding, another of my lines. There was a governor of Virginia named Giles but I do not have any data on him or his line.
I use "Turff & Twiggs" the French Lands by Priscilla Harriss Cabell for a lot of my Harris information. The Harris family lived in the French Lands of Virginia, but were not French. If you need information prior to Major William (son of Thomas) I have it but not William with Mary Giles.
Keep on digging, and good luck
