A coat of arms is a tough proposition. I've seen the one usually seen on various sites but I also have our own, engraved on an amber watch fob pendant. It does not remotely resemble the other. Ours is a mailed arm with a sword in the hand with a gyrfalcon or griffin impaled. I did have pictures of it but they're lost now. I have original, hand-written documents connecting us to the Leighs of rosegarland, Wexford all the way back to when Robert Leigh arrived there after getting out of the Army...{letters of indenture etc.}. But...I also know from the family and other documents that home base was Dublin. I was also told that my grandfather, Lesley Leigh, English, was conected to some important branch and had to give up all of his claims to marry Margaret O'Beirne of Dublin, a commoner. There wasa castle in the family, sold by my uncle Francis J. Leigh {same as mine} in the 30s for $20,000 but I can't find it. A real puzzle with no clear path to follow, the coat of arms itself cannot be found on any site I've yet seen and that may be the link to the right family branch...Any ideas?Frank J. Leigh...One other item, the current owner of Rosegarland is Francis Leigh too! See what I mean?
