This participant who presently lives in Saarbrucken, Germany. His line has been traced to an “Uli” or Ulrich Lehman in the parish of Signau, Canton Bern, Switzerland.
This family has been thoroughly researched and documented by Artur Lehmann, results of which are published in the German language volume, 1. Teil Schweizer Familien Lehmann aus dem Amtsbezirk, Signau 1569-1850 , Saarbrucken, Germany, 1990. The translation is “Part 1 of the Swiss Lehman family of the District of, Signau.”

..1. Nicholas Lehman, b. 22 December1678 at Signau, Canton Bern, Switzerland. He married Anna Ruffenacht, b. 25 November 1683 at Eggiwil, Canton Bern. They baptized at least five children at Signau bet.1707 and 1716. They then relocated to Limbach, Eschweilerhof, Germany where the line continues as follows:

……3. Peter Leeman, b. November 1725 in Limbach, Eschweilerhof, Germany

……..4. Georg Lehmann, b. 1750 in Limbach

……….5. Daniel Lehmann, b. 1779 in Limbach

…………6. Daniel Lehmann, b. 1811 in Limbach

…………..7. Christian Lehmann, b. 1848 in Limbach, Eschweilerhof, Germany, d. 1940

…………….8. Wilhelm Lehman, b: 1884 in Limbach, Eschweilerhof, Germany

Someone from this family came to America in the mid 1700's, My family is one gentic marker off this family. The person who came over is probly our first generation US ancestor. They probably landed in PA and had a son named Levi b 1775, who moved to VA then Monroe CO TN.

If you know of any male Lehman/Lehmann please encourage them to participate in the DNA study,
