Hi I'm going to put a twist in this forum. My grandfather Lee Roy Elwood is suppose to be a LeFlore. The story goes like this; A Indian woman of either Cherokee or Choctaw was a princess of her tribe, she was kidnapped by a man named Greenwood Leflore and gave birth to a son, when the child was about 3 yrs old she left him. Walking down a road she was picked up by a man named Elwood who married her and giving her son the name of ELwood, I do not know the man's first name or the woman's name, the son was known as Buck Elwood no dates I do know he married a woman named Mary Margaret they had children: Frank 1860-1925(1900 IT cenus list Ga as birth place Father birthplace as Tennessee Mother as Mississippi)married Virginia Truitt on 2-14-1900 in IT(their children were Emma, Lee Roy, Lonnie, Lillie Mae, Lillard), Henry, Bud, Alex, James, Dynk married Will Henry, Emma married a Golden. I have no dates on the siblings. I hope someelse has heard this story. I have not been able to locate anything on Frank or his siblings or parents. Any help will be grateful.
