Donald, Thanks for your reply and great listing of Samuel's siblings. I did not have all of them, so appreciate your response.
I have been working at FINDING THE PARENTS of one Harriet HYDE thought to be born in Norwich CT area, birthdate unknown. Harriet married to Theophilus Douglas Olena, a banker in Brooklyn NY. Harriet Hyde Olena was buried Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn NY on 13 Sept 1935.
The family story, although vague, is that Harriet was related to a Leffingwell who was in the Revolutionary War. I am trying to reconstruct that line.
The Descendants of Wm Hyde book lists as children of Samuel Leffingwell Hyde one boy named John Lyman Hyde b 1837 and one child unnamed b 1839. I am wondering if either of those individuals was father to Harriet Hyde??? Or, was Harriet the daughter born Dec 1834 and she lived to be age 101. Unlikely. Always more questions.
Again, thanks for your help today. Steve
