Dee,
I just found this post while doing some work on my BUTTERWORTH and GILBERT lines. I was particularly interested in Hannah BUTTERWORTH m. to John WEBSTER as I had no information on John.
According to the research I have and have seen Hannah Butterworth is not the daughter of Isaac Butterworth, but is his sister. So far I have not been able to ascertain their parents' names although I have seen some speculation as to who they may be. Isaac did indeed have a daughter Hannah - born April 1714. That Hannah was married twice, first to John Giles and secondly to Daniel Scott.
According to the wills of Isaac Butterworth and John Webster in the 1720s, Isaac had a sister who married John Webster, Junior, and that Isaac had a wife named Esther Clark. John Webster was listed on the taxables of 1699 but Isaac was not, so Isaac may have been working with John Webster without owning any land until about 1703.
I have notes from the will of Isaac taken from the Maryland Calendar of Wills which show two Webster nephews as overseers of the will.
Cheers,
Jackie
