When one has the details (full names and exact location meaning parish) of a marriage, it is easier to know more when consulting the parish's registries. The marriage registry usually contains the origin of the bride and groom. It was the custom that the marriage occured in the bride's parish. The church registry usually tells of the groom's parish which was often where they would end up staying after the wedding. People were not very mobile before the 1860s when the railroads gradually became a network in Canada. The first railroad was in inaugurated in July of 1836 or 1837 but railroads were not linked together until around 1860. The likelyhood that Louis A. was born in his father's parish is high. When I look at my own family's history, 9 of the 12 surviving children born of the 1856 marriage were with spouses living within an 8 mile radius.
If you have the parish where Louis was married, you may well have a good lead.
