Gilbert, thanks so very much for explaining about how Fr-Canadian Catholic children were / are named. Not being Catholic, and having a dead-end with my gg-grandfather, Pierre Lefébvre, of late 1700's Quebec (Montreal), I have always wished I knew about such naming practices or customs. This information you present, will help me greatly. Not only with him, and his wife Marie Claire Le Clerc, but with my ancestors of Fr. descent in Natchitoches, LA. You are SO hepful! Thanks again!

Are you the poster who gave the lengthy explnation as to the near-impossibility of tryiing to research Lefé(b)vre ancestry? Last night, when I read that "article" and was all set to print it out for my use, then pass it along to cousins, I lost it because MSN pulled the plug on my then use of the web, closing me down for the night. Now I can't seem to find that article again. If you didn't post it, do you know who did? I dearly would love to locate it again..
