Descendant of Gov. Leete-my visit to Oakington

I am a descendant of Gov. Leete and went to England recently for the first time. In London I bought a map of England and was very disapointed that I couldn't find Oakington, where Gov. Leete and his family were from. I was very disapointed and assumed that the town doesn't exist anymore. Since Gov. Leete studied at Cambridge, I decided to visit the university. When I arrived at the train station there there were local maps there at the station, so I looked for Oakington and it was on the local map. So, I hopped a bus to Oakington to explore. I struck up a conversation with a very helpful lady on the bus and explained that I was looking for the church where my family worshipped in the 17th century. She said "get off at my stop and I'll show you where to go." Oakington is a charming, picturesque little town. After we walked a block or two from the bus stop, she pointed out a church steeple a short distance away and told me that it was the church (St. Andrews) that I was looking for. Then she advised me to check out a nearby pub - said the Leetes would have patronized it. After exploring the church (unfortunately, none of the headstones of the Leete family have survived), I was amused to find that the pub was decorated in Mexican decor (and I flew all the way from Texas for this!) The pub has a website, it you want to check it out:

If any other descendants would like to see a picture of St. Andrews, email me.
