Hi, Norma. My Mother was a Leeson from Illinois although her father's family was from Indiana. I have traced my Leeson line back to Richard Largent Leeson, born 25 June 1786 in Greenbriar Co., Virginia. (That is now Hampshire Co., West Virginia.) I have never been able to go back any further but now your information in many ways looks like it may be my connection. Do you know if all or any of your Leeson's children were born in the U.S.? I'm thinking that possibly Jemima Sargent's last name could have been Largent and since they had a 'Richard'. . .??? The penmanship back then was often difficult to transcribe so an 'L' and an 'S' could look a lot alike especially in capital letters. Let me know what you think. I'll keep my fingers crossed. :)
