LEECH, Paul Harter - Died in Santa Rosa on July 26, 2002, at the age of 80. Paul was husband to Sara for fifty years; father of Paul William, John Richard, David Harvey and father-in-law of Judith Hedgpeth, father of Phillip Michael and grandfather of Albert Ryan, Angeline Marlene, Brian Phillip, and Bianca Raquel Marie. He was big brother to Audrey Leeds Castillo, Mary Brady, John David Leech and Michael Harvey Leech. Paul was born May 23, 1922, at Fort Mills on Corregidor in the Philippine Islands, where his father was stationed as a US Army officer. Paul graduated from the University of Colorado as an Electrical Engineer. He worked for many years for General Electric, with wartime assignments with the Kellex Corporation (Manhattan Project) and Raytheon (RADAR). Later he was the Western Editor, based in San Francisco, of the McGraw-Hill magazine "Electrical World". Most recently he was an environmental impact specialist and plant safety officer for the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, based in Montgomery County, Maryland, where the family lived for seventeen years. An Oakmont resident since 1990, Paul served as president of Oakmont Walkers. He was also president of the local chapter of
the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 24, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 9000 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood, California.
