I have two Lee orphans in Perry Co AL in 1850 and 1860. They are James D(allas) Lee and Sarah Jane Lee. In 1850 they are with Daniel Palmer b 1778 in SC and his wife Sarah b 1793 in SC. The census is barely legible. The James Lee is 5 and his sister,Sarah J is 3. The HH also has a Martha Palmer b 11 Feb 1832 d 29 Jul 1909, married to Joseph Vanderslice on 4 Sep 1854. The children go with her to the HH of Joseph Vanderslice and in 1860 they are identified as Jos (sic) D Lee age 16 and Sarah J Lee age 14.
James Dallas Lee was b Sep 14 1843 d 23 Dec 1908 and buried in Hopkins County Texas. He was m to Perdelia Palmer 22 Jan 1866. Perdelia d before 1910 in TX
Sarah Jane Lee was b Dec 14 1846 d 2 Dec 1920 in Jefferson Co AL. She m Benjamin Austin Barbour 17 or 18 Jan 1866. He d in Jefferson Co AL.
Would love to know whose children they were. Sarah Jane Lee Barbour/Barber states once that her father is Jackson Lee and another place says he is James Lee !! Sarah and James state their father was b in TN. Any connection to anyone would certainly be appreciated. Thanks Eleanor Greene Hemmes HemmesEG@aol.com
