Henning Lee was born in 1861 in Norway. He immigrated to Canada in 1909. By 1911, in the Canadian Census, he is listed as being "Single"; so either by divorce, or death of his wife, he was single by 1911.
On a Military record for Martin, the "Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force", dated March 25, 1917, Martin listed "Henning Lee" as his "next-of kin" (and as his "Father"). He also gave his own birth date as being Sept. 29, 1892; not "1893". At that time, 1917, he lived in Weldon, Saskatchewan.
So, it would appear that Martin's mother was most likely deceased before 1909; both by the immigration record for Henning Lee, and by Martin's statement of his "next-of kin" in the 1917 enlistment. (Most persons list their mother as next-of kin; but not always. It still could only indicate that his parents were divorced, and he had lived more with his father than his mother.
I have not been able (so far) to find earlier records of Henning Lee; records that would have both, he, and his wife, listed together. Should I do so, I'll post back, or email you.
In 1916, a Martin Lee was living within the same household as a "Hanson" family. The census form does not indicate what, if any, relationship he had with the Hansons. It is possible that "Gertrude Hanson", age 32 and wife ofCedor, was a sister to Martin, but that is only a thought on my part. The census form's "Relationship to Head of Household" column does not have anything written by Martin's line. Both Cedor Hanson and Martin were "Farmers". They may have just been working together; or Martin working for Cedor.

There are about 4 Martin Lee(s) that were born in Norway, which later lived in Canada (all born around the same year or so). It would appear that more than one could be the correct Martin Lee for your quest.
I'm not related to this Lee family.
