Well, it took me awhile to get to the Clerk's office, but I had business there today and was able to spend some time looking for your guy.
Found the marriage record you want. Marriage record between Mary A. Williams and J.W.Lee, Hays County, Marriage Book A, Page 134, 22 Jul 1865. License granted by James Ford, Clerk of Court; Marriage performed by Joseph Massey, minister. Filed in the Clerk's office on 12 Aug 1865. Marriage Book A is in the "vault" at the Hays Co Clerk's office in San Marcos, TX. The ink is very faded on this "true copy", but is still readable. To get a copy, contact the Clerk's office at 512-393-7330. They tell me it is $20. Sheesh.
Also found a bunch of other marriages and deeds and whatnot of Hays Co Lees. Dunno if you want them. If so, email me offline and I'll type up my notes and send them back to you. JW and Mary were involved in at least 9 other transactions. There was also a John H, a Joseph, a Thomas B, an Ann, and an Isaac James in the deeds, and a P, NI, MJ, R, WO, L, C, and F Lee in the marriages for the latter 1800's.
