You should know that Thomas Sim Lee, the Catholic Governor of Maryland, had a son named John Lee. John Lee was very close friends with General Lafayette. The other son, Thomas Lee was married to Eleanor Cromwell the only daughter of Richard Cromwell of Baltimore.
I haven't given any sources but all this information is contained in two books. One is Washington Irving's book on The Life of George Washington and the other is titled Noted Colonial families of Baltimore. John Lee was the Executor of my gggggrandfather's Myers Estate. John C Brackenridge somehow purchased part of the Estate from John Lee. It had a bad title so the issue ended in Kentucky court. I also have those records.
