I am searching for parents of Washington Levi Lee, aka W.L. Lee or Levi Lee who came to Texas around 1857 from Tenn. and died at Gaines Mill in 1861.

Of course, family history claims a relationship to Robert E., but I have never found any validity to that claim.

Levi was married to Martha Shelby, dau. of Wade Shelby of Tenn.

Any info would be helpful. I've been at this point for several years now.
