WHO is Martin Lee? WHO is Rebecca Null. All that is really known about this couple is that they married in Caddo Parish LA in 1838. The only other reference to them thus far refers to land Martin took up in East Texas before 1850. BUT, there has been no evidence of either of them after that point in time. From other sources, it can be ASSUMED that Rebecca Null was part of the Jacob Null family who was living in Caddo Parish LA by 1840. I am a descendant of JACOB NULL through his daughter Lucinda Null m. Levi V. Arnold in 1842. They did not marry in LA, but rather MET in the county just west of Caddo Parish, which is Harrison Co. TX. Indications are Jacob moved his family into Texas, where he himself died not long before 1850. Lucinda and Levi V., however, did not marry in Harrison Co. TX either, though, rather en route to Levi's home in Scott Co. AR where his parents still lived. Other information IMPLIES that if Rebecca WAS a daughter of Jacob, she was a child of his by an EARLIER wife, who was NOT the mother of Lucinda and at least 6 other children. A close neighbor of Jacob Null in 1840 Caddo Parish LA was Alney Taylor McGee, who was married to Margaret LEE back in Ray Co. MO in the 1830's. These two families appear to have become very close since they continued to be closely assocated with each other after the two families entered East Texas. Both were in Harrison Co., then McGee and children of Jacob Null were also near him after he moved into Van Zandt Co. TX. Two of Jacob Null's sons ended up in California by 1850 with the McGee family and remained close the rest of their lives. Curious to know the kinship of Rebecca to my line of Nulls and kinship of Martin to the wife of A.T. McGee. IF Martin Lee died by 1850, Rebecca probably remarried, but to whom? Or did she die as well??? Karylon A. Russell, P.O. Box 823, Llano, TX 78643 krussell@tstar.net Notify Administrator about this message?
