I have come across a short history of this Ledyard family in my notes as they married into my family in the early 1900's. If you would like information, send me an e-mail:
the relevant Ledyard's are from Wiltshire originally:
ROBERT LEDYARD
son ROBERT LEDYARD born in 1755 into Boston 1775
married SARAH ANN CADY settled in Brooklyn Connecticut
children SAMUEL, 1790, JOHN 1792, LUTHER 1794, CLARISSA 1795, GIRDEN 1796, DAVID, MARY 1800, HIRAM 1802
also a cousin of ROBERT LEDYARD was the famous traveller JOHN LEDYARD. Have also HUGH MOSHER and WALTER PIERCE LEDYARD (died 1873) who played roles in the Civil War. Children of WALTER were GILBERT and PHINEAS
GILBERT's children were JOHN H., HARVEY BYERS, EARL GILBERT LEDYARD, JOHN H. married Jean McRitchie and if anyone descends from this branch I would like to speak with you,
