Hello Joy, The spellings for Ledyard are also Liddiard, Lydiard, and Ledeate. The information on my lineage (which I received from Theckla Ledyard) says these Ledyards were from Wiltshire, Somerset, and Bristol. This goes back to 1543 with William Ledeate born to Richard Ledeate of Ogbourne, St. Andrew or St. George, Wiltshire, England. Your family may well be related to mine, but I have no mention of Johnathon Liddiard and Rebecca Knight (1744, Inkpen, Berkshire). By then my line was spelling their name Ledyard. The other responders to my message may be able to help you. Good luck, Dixie
