Michelle Laduke 4/24/05
Greetings to all - love you Donna - she is my cousin.
There is a ton to talk about with the family Leduc/Laduke
Just remember there are errors even in the published books.
Coat of Arms - let me make clear that ifyou don't know that coat of Arms or titles could be purchased in 1500's
in France. Some Leduc families purchased titles, but often where landowners. Also - not all Leduc families that came from France are Related - For example. I have no documentation that suggests that Pierre who Married Catherine is any relation to any of the other Leduc's who
arrived in Canada before 1691.
English Version
Family Crest or Coat of Arms.
Blue Held fast on gold accompanied in chief
by two roses, and in point one cross trefoil.
From the "Dictionaries Universal de la Noblesse de France" Volume 3, Page 184.
Leduc Lords of Compertrix in Champagne, France, family maintains by decree of advice, given after hearing both the 17 June, 1723 issue of ancient extraction in consequence some titles that establish his connection with Jean LeDuc whose son Pierre LeDuc, esquire lord of Compertrix, was married with Marie Clement, the 22 July of 1550.
This is my first and earliest record
before Pierre who married Catherin.
Just a reminder that is Compertrix - and Pierre was born in Normandy - so - just an example of some gray areas in the early 1600's.
This comes from the Associaton of the Family Leduc
if you are from Pierre and Catherine this pertains to you.
June 24, 1645 in the parish
of Saint-Laurent, Rouen, Normandy, France
Pierre Leduc was baptized.
His skill was as a master-boilermaker:
a craftsman who made and sold cauldrons,
portable stoves and othes kitchen utensils, and
maybe even swords. A metal worker
As soldier in the Company of La Motte in 1691,
accompanied by sieur Villebon,
Pierre spent some fifty days sailing across
the Atlantic on the ship "Le Soleil d'Afrique".
His third career: farmer. According to a notary document, Mr. J.B. Poitier, December 31, 1700
12 hectares or 1,500,000 square feet on the island of Montreal somewhere between
Lachine and Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue.
If anyone has access to Perish Records, or other documents
I would love to talk to you, because I may have to jus use the PRDH. But I have more stories like this - especially with Thomas Leduc gaining the most of the island of
I'll Perrot as a wedding gift. I have the story of the Leduc crossing - when our line
moved to Detroit from Canada.
My ancestry starts with Pierre and Catherine -

and is followed to my Grand Father -
