Dear RJ,

What additional information do you have on Louis LeDoux, father of the Frs. Jerome and Valsin LeDoux?

I have a very large LeDoux family file in my database. At present the file has a 328-page register report, plus 2800+ source notes printed as endnotes. I entered all the Ledoux individuals I could find in published church records from the Diocese of Lafayette pub. in Southwest Louisiana Records by Rev. Donald J. Hebert, and Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records. Fr. Hébert also entered
civil records from 13 area courthouses, regardless of sex, race, or creed, and I have tried to follow his example.

I do not ask for personal information on people who are still living - I just enter their names and Private, but I
do need enough information to link them to the other LeDouxs in my database.

I would be pleased to have your family information as well.
Calcasieu Parish records are hard to find. As I am sure you
already know, the Lake Charles fire of 1910 destroyed the
Civil Records and the Catholic Church's records as well.

Calcasieu Parish was created in 1840 from St. Landry Parish - our ancestors did not move, only the parish boundaries moved. Early records of these families can still be found in Southwest Louisiana Records.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Best regards,
Rosie Wells
