Grandfather or Great-grandfather Epiminio LeDoux lived with his seven children on LeDoux Street in Taos until his death from pneumonia in 1929. He worked for a New York Gallery that still has its studios on that street. He spoke English, Spanish, and Native American languages. Six months after his death from pneumonia, his wife (39 years old) died as well, of congestive heart failure. 5 out of 7 children were placed with family. Two were placed in an orphanage in Santa Fe. The family, however, had great determination to find one another and is a unified and close family to this day.
