Dear Bonnie:

I wondered what your source of information was that Margaret Ledgerwood Stanton was a daughter of John Ledgerwood. And then, which one? The one who m. Eleanor Newman in TN? Or the one who m. 1) Phoebe Peeble; and 2) Matilda Jane George?

SEcond, I wondered about a John being a son of William. There was a John who was the right age to be the son of William, and most researchers just called him John of Botetourt Co. VA, (although his will was presented in Montgomery Co. in 1806). This is probably the father of John Ledgerwood who m. Eleanor Newman in TN. So you may be 1)William 2) John; 3) John, then 4) Margaret. The problem is, none of us has ever been able to prove that John was William's son, even though their relative locations and ages suggest it.

Anyway, that's enough rambling for now. Gail
