My computer is down so I'm a bit handicapped at the moment, using a library computer now. If you go to ancestry.com and do a search for Cynthia Dougherty, b. 1813 in Georgia, USA - the first several results should lead you to my tree. Click on the "probate record for Jeremiah Horn" Then look to the right and click on her name. Everything I have should be in my tree, Taylors of Tennessee and Indian territory. Even if you're not a member, I think you can view my tree and all my research. My cherokee comes directly from her. I was able to re establish my cherokee citizenship last year. Her family line can get a bit tangled as I recall. Her daughter married her step son.
I have a picture of her grave stone, the will of Jeremiah Horn, and the testimony of her daughter Caroline Cynthia Horn Mcneil giving the family history for Cynthia Jane Horn Taylor's application to the eastern cherokee.
Based on the testimony of a descendent of her father James Dougherty Jr., James Dougherty Sr. bought a captive white woman which resulted in James Jr. That story is posted as well.
