Elaine: I tried e-mailing at address listed here, but message was returned. Elaine, How interesting it is that our lines keep intersecting! Your
response to my query about Samuel LeCompte who married Helen Kendall is
very intriguing. Helen Kendall (you say the 2nd wife of Samuel LeCompte) was the sister of my great grandmother Sally W. Kendall who
married Richard Kaslin LEGG. Their daughter Willie Legg married my grandfather Harry WILLIS whom you mentioned in a previous e-mail as someone your father spoke of. My father Herbert Arthur WILLIS (Greenie), the youngest of Harry's children, born in 1906, often spoke of Uncle Sammy and Aunt Helen. It wasn't until I was back in Chestertown in January and found the will of Sally and Helen Kendall's father, Stephen Kendall, that I found out who Sally's family were. Then with the names in the will, I found Helen and Samuel's marriage. So we are at least step-related! And then there's Harry's brother GeorgeThomas Willis who married Miriam Helen LeCompte, and his brother Arnold Wellington Willis who married Sarah Melvina LeCompte.
Do you know anything about the family of Helen Kendall? Do you have any Legg connections? You can e-mail me direct at email@example.com Thanks for the info.
