I've been stuck on my oldest LECOMPTE ancestor for sometime now and am hoping someone has heard of him.
JOHN H. LECOMPTE, b. 1817 in Delaware
married (date unknown) Hattie/Hatty ?, b. 1826 in Maryland
they had (4) children that I know of, born in Somerset County, Maryland:
George J., 1849
Joshua James, 1851
Matilda, 1856
Female, 1861
According to census records, Hattie was a widow in 1880 living in Baltimore City and I cannot find any of the family in the 1870 census, so unsure if John was still alive at that time.
I cannot find any death or burial info on either John nor Hattie.
ANYONE know this family???
