I have a copy (thanks to Carla Gerding of Henry County) of the 1849 marriage bond of Caroline LeCompte along with the handwritten consent of her father, which is dated 1 day earlier that the bond. The father did not sign the marriage bond, rather Mark H. Hardin did. The father identifies himself as John LeCompte in the consent statement.

I am assuming that this John LeCompte is John Samuel LeCompte given that I have not seen any other possible John LeCompte who could have signed for his daughter in 1849.

Anything you have on LeCompte families in KY is of interest, especially with regard to this family.

I found the following some time ago - the birthdate doesn't agree with census record of 1860 though:
