LeCompte Family Genealogy Forum

As time passes and I get better at this I have filled in some of the blanks in no small way attributed to the gentle proddings of some of my fellow/fellowette researchers. I now know that my Grandfather was named after his maternal Uncle James Wilbur Jones who was residing as a boarder in my Great-Grandfathers home in Baltimore Maryland in 1900. My Great Grandmothers maiden name was Jones. My Grandmother was Alice May Lowman born 12/26/1909 to Nicolas Lowman born abt. 1845 aged 65 and Annie Lowman (maiden name Johnson) born abt. 1872 aged 38. Alice died 12/11/1939 as the result of an automobile accident in Baltimore Maryland. My grand parents had 5 children; Mary Jane LeCompte, born 17 Nov 1926; Lucille L. LeCompte (Silvers), born 31 Jan 1928 and died 30 Jul 2006; James Wilbur LeCompte Jr. (my father), born 23 Aug 1930; Betty, born Jul 1931 and died 19 Jun 1932 of Gastro-Enterginitis (food poisoning) and Stephen Leonard LeCompte, born 7 Oct 1932. My Great Grandfather was Stephen Leonard LeCompte born abt. 1870 and died 28 Apr 1930. His father might have been James H. LeCompte born abt. 1844 and my great-great grandmother would have been Mary LeCompte (Skinner) as the 1880 census shows a Mrs. Sarah Skinner born abt. 1827 aged 53 living with them as the mother of Mary E. This is an area that I am 95% sure of but not 100%. This would make my ggg-grandfather Joseph Lloyd LeCompte born abt 1809 died 3 Aug 1859 and married to Elizabeth Sewars. Again I am less than 100% sure. If anyone has any information on either James H. LeCompte and or Joseph Lloyd LeCompte please respond. Thank you for reading this posting and my eternal thanks if you can fill in any blanks.
