Yes, there were LeComptes in CT -- my grandmother, Aline Lucy LeCompte was born in Waterbury CT in 1885. She was the younger of two sisters; her older sister was Marie LeCompte. Their parents were Edmund LeCompte and Augustine Verzier; both of whom came over from France. Family lore has it that the whole family came over and that my grandmother spoke only French until her grandparents died when she was 10 years old. I don't know which side the grandparents were on, and I don't have any information about any ancestors earlier than Edmund and Augustine. But, yes, there were LeComptes in CT (still are descendents there -- I lived there for 11 years and my cousin is still there).
