Native Americans?

My father, Gilbert LeCompte, was adopted off the Standing Rock Sioux reservation at Ft. Yates, ND by a white man, William LeCompte, and his wife, an Oglala Sioux woman, Faith Babby.

I know very little of this man but do know he had the nick-name of Shorty.

Also, are there any Native American LeComptes out there?
