Hi Stella,

I have a Moise LEBLANC (s/o Martin & Genevieve AUBE) married to Salome MILLER (d/o Jean & Esther FRENCHE dit Laframboise), on February 7, 1865, in St-Martin de Laval, Quebec.

What I'd like to point out about that marriage is this:

1) The husband is another Moise (during a lifetime, the first name could change a few times)
2) MILLER and MATTER can look somewhat similar (especially when written by hand)
3) In my database, the name Salomie/Salomee is unusual, which makes that marriage even more suspicious.
4) The date of the wedding makes it possible they had a son married in 1890.

I don't know about the german roots, but hope this helps.

Mario
