I have long thought that the name "Farris" originated in Lebanon. As of yet, however, I have had difficulty making the connection to Scotland and England. I am a decendant of Ian Esom Farris who settled in North Carolina circa 1663. He sailed from Wales after marrying Emily Jane Cameron in Edindurgh. We believe he was born in Scotland, but can not get back that far. Any clues as to the Scot/English connection of the Farris name???
