Maruff, or Maruf, or Maarouf, or Ma3rouf...
are the same. It's means KNOWN or FAMOUS.
Really, it is a surname in the DRUZE comunity and there is a saying or dictum: MAAROUF'S SONS, to mean DRUZE who are one of Lebanon's comunitys, and to mean at the same time GENEROUS
In Lebanon, maybe we can find MAROUF family in IGHMID, town of the mountain of Chouf's district.
