I have been given a picture of my grandfather with two other Coast Guardsmen which I have been told was taken pre-World War II. They are standing on the deck of a small Coast Guard Cutter in an unknown port, but it might be Boston. On the back of the picture is written "Mr. Parker, CBM [Chief Boatswain's Mate], Mr. Heikel, Capt [from the picture he appears to be an Ensign]and I.
My grandfather's name was William Van Buren Midgett, and I believe he retired as a Chief Motor Machinist's Mate after World War II. I would like to find out more about Mr. Parker and Mr. Heikel. Thanks, Keith
