Researching Ferris, Nassar or Moses Family
Posted by: Doher Ferris (ID *****3821) Date: October 06, 2012 at 19:14:16

Hello, I am third generation lebanese living in Philadelphia, and I am looking for the families of both my mother and father (I'm 100% lebanese).

My paternal grandfather's family's surname is Ferris. They are from Baalbek, Lebanon. Immigrated around 1907. Doher Ferris was my great-grandfather.

My paternal grandmother's family's surname is Moses (or, Moussa in arabic). They are from a small mountainous village in the heart of Mt. Lebanon, called Jaj. My paternal great-grandfather's name was Joseph (Yusuf) Ferris, and his wife's maiden name was Khalifi.

On my mother's side, my great-grandmother, who I knew well and lived to be 104, immigrated from Lebanon 1921, from Amioun, Lebanon. Her name was Marianna Nassar. Her maiden name was Salem. Her husband's name was Elias (or, Louis) Nassar. Her family was veyr wealthy, as they owned an olive oil business in Amioun.

Any help will be great. Thanks!
