Thank you so much for that information! Sami was my great-great grandfather. He changed his last name to Elias (my maiden name) when he immigrated to the USA. After Sadie died in 1921, Sami returned to Fih with several of his children, including my great-grandfather Floyd Elias(who also went by Zehe). Floyd married my great grandmother Adele Sleiman (her parents were Khalil and Karime Sleiman). Then they moved back to the USA.

Do you know how many children Hanna Elias Makdissi had? I think Sami was one of four or five brothers (Ibrahim, Simon, Elias, and maybe a Michael). I'm also trying to find out when they first immigrated to the USA. I think it was in the 1890s and that Sami. I believe Sami returned in 1904 or so to marry Sadie. Or do you know anything more about Hanna Elias Makdissi's occupation or family? Or which church in Fih they attended? I'm trying to find any documents about the Makdissi and Sleiman families that I can so I can put together a family tree and information for my whole family. I'd also be happy to know if there are any Sleimans or Makdissi's in Fih that would be willing to talk to me or email me about my family.

Thanks so much again for responding so quickly!

Kristen
