I am trying to determine whether the surname "Shrude" would have a reasonable equivalent (translation from Arabic) to continue to search for family records. Or any information about this name at all. It is believed my great grandfather immigrated through Ellis Island, from Lebanon, settled in Springfield Mass. He died in 1919, but no idea when he came to US or how old he was at time of death.
