Hello I am also looking for my fathers family roots. I was always told we where from Leb. but now I found records saying it was syria. Very confused!! anyway, names are as follows...are you related? I can't get straight answers from dads sister. She says leave it alone ..NO WAY.
the dates and names are confuseing because of how old all the papers are. Name on census for 1900 says Kiel but for 1910, 1920, 1930 says Kalil

great great grandfather: ferris kalil - from syria (never came to USA we think)

great grandfather: Solomon Kalil-born nov 5 1862 in syria migrated to USA in 1892
wife: Mary Cosap (maiden name we think) born march 26 1867
sons: abramham, joseph, charles,(charles was my grandfather)
daughters: sarah, lodisa, minnie,???

People that also came here to USA with Solomon
brother: abraham kalil
brother: joseph kalil, Married to katherine kalil
solomon was a retail fruit dealer in gloversville ny

does any of this ring any bells???
I heard along time ago that one of the brothers left home never to return..some sort of fight
